Monday: South Side Wins in OT
Jack McCormack had five goals and two assists to lead Mineola (1-1) to an 18-1 win over visiting Valley Stream (0-2). Tommy Renner added two goals and three assists for the Mustangs who play New Hyde Park on Thursday. [BOX SCORE]
North Shore defeated Lawrence (2-1) by the score of 12-1. Matthew D'Aversa (3), Jack Kaufman (3), and Sawyer DeSeve (2) combined for eight goals for the Vikings (2-0). Kody Kirchner scored the lone goal for Lawrence. [BOX SCORE]
It was an overtime win for Lynbrook as they defeated Bethpage 6-5. Lynbrook rallied behind from a 5-2 deficit in the fourth quarter. Michael Fagen scored a goal to cut the lead to two, then assisted Anthony Capitali. Next Max Dantona scored an unassisted goal to tie the game with 1:22 left. Michael Hendrickson scored the game winner from of a faceoff to tally his third goal of the day. Jake Lunati capped off the win with 18 saves.
Leading the scoring for Bethpage (2-2) were junior midfielder Bryce Wylie (2g) and sophomore attackman Andrew Reinhardt (1g-1a). In the goal for Bethpage was junior Jake Kelly with 15s/6ga = 71%. [BOX SCORE]
Visiting Island Trees outscored Hicksville 8-2 in the first quarter en route to a 17-5 victory. Kian McCoy scored four goals and Luke Forde won 10 of 11 faceoffs for the Bulldogs (2-0), who play Calhoun on Thursday. [BOX SCORE]
In another overtime contest, Plainview JFK junior attackman Sam Warren scored the game winner on a feed from Dillon Josen two minutes into the first overtime period for the Hawks. Plainview had tied the game with 30 seconds left in the 4th quarter with a goal from Alex Kantrowitz on a feed from Andrew Greenbaum. There was no report from Jericho at post time. [BOX SCORE]
