County Teams

Nassau County Teams

There are currently fifty-one Varsity teams that will play in the County in 2024. They are divided among four classes that compete for County championships and later, the New York State tournaments.

Generally, schools with 1,026 or more students are in Class A (12 teams). Schools with 734 to 1,025 are in Class B (17 teams), schools with 431 to 733 are in Class C (17 teams) and schools with 430 and below are in Class D (4 teams).

Combined teams are determined by various scales. This year Valley Stream has a combined enrollment of 1594(Class A), Malverne/East Rockaway has 567 (Class C) and Carle Place/Wheatley has 474 (Class C)

Teams No Longer Playing

BERNER - Berner was absorbed into Massapequa in 1988. They played from 1963-1987.

LEVITTOWN MEMORIAL - Levittown had two high schools, called Division Avenue and Memorial. Memorial played from 1966 to 1983. The school closed and was absorbed into Division Ave.

PLAINVIEW and PLAINVIEW JFK - Plainview had two high schools for many years. Plainview high school played from 1961 to 1987 and then they combined with Plainview JFK to form one high school. Plainview JFK played from 1967 to 1980 and then again when they combined with Plainview and restarted the program.
