Wednesday Review
Yesterday there were a dozen games played, almost all of which were Conference games.
In Conference A:
Hempstead (1-4) defeated Uniondale (0-6) 11-6. Jakkai Stith (4), Chris Lake (4), and Charley Jimenez (3) combined to score all of the goals for the Tigers. Adrian Beltre made 19 saves in goal for Hempstead and Cameron Edgerson scored three goals for the Knights.
Port Washington (3-2) and Syosset (4-2) had big wins over Valley Stream and Oceanside respectively. Adam Giovinco led the Braves with four goals and five assists, while Luke Meyer had five goals and three assists for the Vikings. Michael Madden had three goals and an assist for the Sailors (3-30 and Jake Perinchief chipped with a goal and three assists. Ian Hess tallied the only goal for Valley Stream (1-6).
Freeport broke open a tight game with East Meadow (0-3) by outscoring the Jets 10-1 in the second and third quarters. The final score had the Red Devils (5-2) on top, 15-6. Matthew Drayton led Freeport with five goals and two assists. Fernando Flores scored twice for East Meadow.
In Conference B:
South Side, Calhoun, Long Beach, Division Avenue, and MacArthur all had double digit victories. High scorers for each victorious squad were Jake Lewis of Calhoun (6-1) with four goals and two assists, Liam Livingston of South Side (4-2) with two goals and three assists, Luke Hartman of Long Beach (3-3) with three goals and three assists, and Liam Burns of Division (4-5) with three goals and three assists. For MacArthur (3-2), three players tallied five points: Patrick Cheswick, Connor Larkin, and Alex Varga. Strong performances from the losing teams included Matteo Cameron (Glen Cove) with sixteen saves, Matt Basil (Glen Cove) four goals, and Ben Greco (Bellmore Kennedy) with sixteen saves.
Roslyn defeated New Hyde Park 15-8. Spencer Cymbler scored five goals for the Bulldogs (5-0) and Alex Siegel had three goals and seven assists. Alfonoso Curatolo made sixteen saves for New Hyde Park (2-5).
In the closest game of the day, Great Neck South defeated Elmont, 9-7. Edwin Serpas scored six goals and added an assist for the Rebels (3-2). Alex Williams had four goals for the Spartans (1-5).
In non-league play, Farmingdale traveled to Connecticut to play Fairfield Prep (3-1). The Dalers (3-3) were outscored 4-0 in the second quarter and lost 14-8. Brendan O'Keefe had two goals and three assists and Caden Lennon scored three times.
