Playoff Preview- Class D Semifinals

#4 Oyster Bay (9-7) vs #1 Cold Spring Harbor (10-6), 11:00 am
This Year: Did not play
All-Time: Cold Spring Harbor leads 7-0. 
About Cold Spring Harbor: The Seahawks have won three consecutive NYS Class D championships, matching the three titles they won in Class C from 2015-17. Junior midfielder Alex Bauer leads CSH with 21 goals and 14 assists, sophomore Matt Kammer has been steady in goal with 158 saves and junior FOGO Alex Vitale has won 66% of his draws. They will once again be the favorite to repeat as NYS Class D champions and are 36-4 in the playoffs in the last ten years. 
About Oyster Bay: The Baymen had a successful season in League 3 and are led by junior George Henry who won 77% of his faceoffs and scored 13 goals. Other scorers for Oyster Bay include senior Dylan Romano (25 goals) and sophomore Finn Meyer (20 goals). The Baymen have never beaten Cold Spring Harbor and the average score of those matchups was 14-3. 

#3 Friends Academy (15-1) vs #2 Locust Valley (10-6), 1:00 pm
This Year: Locust Valley 12, Friends Academy 4 on March 28th.
All-Time: Locust Valley leads 16-11. The Falcons have won 6 of the last 8 meetings. 
About Locust Valley: The Falcons improved to 10-6 this season after enduring 1-15 record in 2024. Freshman goaltender Grayson Iannotti has made 173 saves and has held opponents to 6.3 goals per game. Senior Owen Pye leads LV with 35 goals and 22 assists. Locust Valley won the Class C championship in 2014 and appeared in the final in 2017 and 2019. 
About Friends Academy: Friends was a dominant force in League 3 this year, having won 15 straight games after an opening day loss to Locust Valley. Senior Clarke Beard leads the team with 70 points, while freshman Luca Kraska has scored 46 goals and sophomore Marcus Ryder has 37 assists. Friends was the Class C champion in 2013 and has lost in the Class D final to Cold Spring Harbor the last three years after winning the 2021 Class D Long island championship.
