Class B Quarterfinal Updates
Garden City defeated Calhoun 17-4 in a Class B quarterfinal game played on Wednesday. The top seeded Trojans received two goals and three assists from senior attackman Charlie Koester and eleven other players scored a goal for Garden City (16-1). Calhoun finished the season with a record of 7-11.
Garden City will face #5 Roslyn in the semifinals next week as the Bulldogs went on the road to defeat #4 Long Beach, 9-8. It was the seventh straight win for Roslyn (13-4) and Long Beach finishes the year with a record of 7-10.
#3 Bethpage (9-7) survived an upset bid from #6 MacArthur (14-3) to win in overtime, 7-6 and advance to the semifinals where they will face #2 Manhasset. The Indians downed #7 Carey (11-7) by the score of 16-9 and were led by senior attackman Connor Sheerin who scored five goals and added an assist. Mikey Beschel won 21 of 25 faceoffs for Manhasset (13-4). Steven Martinez made 15 saves for the Seahawks.
