Class C Quarterfinal Updates
The top ranked team in Nassau Class C, Wantagh, defeated #8 Island Trees on Wednesday, 24-3. The Warriors tied or set several Nassau playoff team scoring records in the process and senior attackman Devin Paccione totaled a goal and 11 assists in the win. Wantagh will face the winner of #5 North Shore and #4 Plainedge which got moved to today due to a weather issue late in the day on Tuesday.
#2 seed South Side (11-6) scored six first quarter goals and never looked back against #7 Floral Park. Kieran Vetter scored three goals and Brendan Vetter had four assists for the Cyclones. Connor DeMeo made 18 saves in the loss for Floral Park (11-6). South Side will face #3 Seaford in the semifinals. Brian Falk, Anthony Foglia, and Jimmy Hurson each scored two goals for the Vikings (8-9) in the quaterfinal win over #6 Lynbrook. Junior Patrick Algozzini was the game's high scorer with three tallies for the Owls who finished with a record of 8-9.
