Historical Notes: Massapequa won their first NYS boys lacrosse championship in school history by defeating Fayetteville-Manlius (Section III), 16-2, at Hofstra University. The Massapequa defense shut out the Hornets for three quarters and allowed only 18 shots all game. Ian Kirby totaled four points (3g, 1a) in a 4:20 stretch of the third quarter gave Massapequa a commanding 10-2 lead at the end of three quarters.
