Historical Notes: A strong defensive effort led Garden City to their third straight Long Island Class B championship over Sayville, 9-2. The undefeated Trojans outshot Sayville 20-8 in the first half en route to building a 5-0 halftime lead they would never relinquish. The Golden Flashes scored two straight goals to close the gap early in the third quarter, but Justin Guterding responded with a goal and three assists in the half to push Garden City over the top. Patrick Fleming made 11 saves in goal for Sayville who finished the season 15-4.
